"כיצד נעשית בחירה זהירה של מקיימי שש המצוות?" שאל המלך וֶן
ענה הדוכס האדיר: "העשר אותם והשגח שאינם פושעים, תן להם יוקרה והשגח שאינם מתגאים, שלם להם והשגח שאינם מתהפכים, העסק אותם והשגח שאינם מסתירים, סכן אותם והשגח שאינם פוחדים, העבד אותם והשגח שאינם נעשים מותשים. מי שתעשיר ולא יפשע, הריהו אנושי. מי שתיתן לו יוקרה ולא יתגאה, הריהו צדיק. מי שתשלם לו ולא יתהפך, הריהו נאמן. מי שתעסיק ולא יסתיר, הריהו אמין. מי שתסכן ולא יפחד, הריהו אמיץ. מי תעביד ולא ייעשה מותש, הרי זה בעל כושר תכנון. לא ייתן השליט לאיש את שלושת האוצרות. אם ייתן, יאבד השליט את כוחו." |
