45  | 劉廷焜，字子曦，號賡，台台巖之子，有名諸生，間餼于庠，奉父母至孝，友恭于兄弟，篤古質慤，無一毫流俗之氣，其方嚴勤儉，出於天性，酷嗜書史，矻矻孜孜，留心古今治亂興亡之大機，及聖賢學問經濟，可以禆身心捄世務者，手記目識，無虛日月，即之而介，久之欵欵中孚如金石，其臨事祇慎，不敢造次，其於敬之」一字，被服終身以求無愧家學，其誡鱗長之言曰：汝也當官，若稍懈偷從，不自愛䕶，來也。又曰：處不競之地，避緇染之塗，可以讀書可以修身，可以承先世之風節」。又曰：爾其請教於老成練士。又曰：聖人處事，每從忠厚戒刻薄兒，綜覈甚善，吾慮兒之為怨府也。又曰：儕輩之交，宜謙和靜定，斂蔵鋒。鍔吾慮兒處同事，自恃直道，未能降心相從也。又曰：京師逰客附、聲射利，多有窺矙往來，宜慎，吾子念之。又曰：弊役衙蠧，剪除固當，乃吾視吾子若不能頃刻容者，發之太驟，恐施之過當，吾願吾子之審處熟思也。又曰：少年臨事，接物易入，輕率恍惚，吾子念之。凡累言爾爾，莫非義方云？參議劉孟龍，先生鱗長。 |
