24  | 夫楩柟豫章，天下之名，木生於深山之中，産於溪谷之傍，立則為太山，衆木之宗仆，則為萬世之用，浮於山水之流，出於㝠㝠之野，因江河之道而逹於京師之下，因於斧斤之功，舒其文彩之好，精捍直理，宻緻博通，蟲蝎不能穿，水濕不能傷，在高柔軟入，地堅彊，無膏澤而光潤，生不尅畫而文章成，上為帝王之御物，下則賜公卿庻賤不得以備，器械，閑絶以關梁，及隘於山阪之阻，隔於九坑之隄，仆於巍崔之山，頓於窅㝠之溪，樹蒙籠蔓延而無間，石崔巍嶄岩而不開，廣者無舟車之通，狹者無歩擔之蹊，啇賈所不至，工匠所不窺，知者所不見，見者所不知，功棄而德亡，腐朽而枯傷，轉於百仞之壑，惕然而獨僵，當斯之時，不如道傍之枯楊，𡻭𡻭詰屈，委曲不同，然生於大都之廣地，近於大匠之名工，則材器制斵，規矩度量，堅者補朽，短者續長，大者治罈，小者治觴，飾以丹漆，斁以明光，上備大牢，春秋禮庠，褒以文彩，立禮矜莊，冠帶正容，對酒行觴，卿士列位，布陳宮堂，望之者目眩，近之者鼻芳故事，閉之則絶，吹之則通，抑之則沈，興之則揚，處地楩梓，賤於枯楊，德美非不相絶也，才力非不相懸也，彼則枯槁而遠棄，此則為宗廟之器者，通與不通，亦如是也。 |
