52  | 閩商、候選道兼暹羅領事官陳金鐘來謁。金鐘字吰音，原籍海澄，居新嘉坡數世矣，以商致富數百萬金，其祖若父並受暹羅顯職。金鐘頗疏財好義，即創萃英書院者也。丁丑晉賑，捐銀十餘萬，係丁雨生中丞派人來勸者；及左文襄公勸辦海防，復捐萬金。年六十餘，有十子，尚中國衣冠，惟言語不通，須用人傳話。自稱不忘中國，日後有事極願效力，余頗獎勵之，以備他日之用。 |
