《卷十八 舟語》
1  | 洋舶之大者，曰獨檣舶，能載一千婆蘭。一婆蘭三百斤，番語也。次牛頭舶，於獨檣得三之一。次三木舶，於牛頭得三之二。次料河舶，於三木得三之一。底二重，皆以鐵力木厚三四尺者為之。錮以瀝青、石腦油、泥油，填以礧石。矴以獨鹿木，紮以藤，縫以㭨索。其碇以鐵力、水桫，釘以桄榔、𥯨簩，淬釘以蛇皮內膏。蓋海水鹹，爛鐵妨磁石，故皆不用鐵物云。桅凡三，一桅常植，二桅以風而植。桅長者十四五丈或二三接，中皆橫一杆，上有望斗，容四十餘人。又以木為人，或升或降，遍置梯繩之間，前木照後柁，以黑鬼善沒者司之。其舶小者，四圍皆密，腹中僅畱一孔自上而下。飄洋時，梢公縛身桅下，餘悉在舶腹之中。凡上舶容人千餘，中者數百，皆有舵師、曆師，然必以羅經指南。尸羅經者，為一舶司命，毫末分利害焉。每舶有羅經三，一置神樓，一舶㞑，一在半桅之間，必三鍼相對不爽，乃敢行海。大魚至，以銅銃擊而退之。大魚去而波浪為怪，以長劍斬之。其人為西南諸番將卒工商之屬，一一凶狠，海寇皆莫敢近。故得輸其珠贐奇物，以輻輳五羊。 |
