《卷六十二》
31  | 南戈羅裏部，東界海，西南俱界若治阿，北界北戈羅裏。幅員三萬三千方裏，戶五十八萬一千一百八十口。境內僅有特墨爾山，高有四百餘丈，餘俱培嶁，林木叢茂。初英國律官曰格拉領頓者，與依爾額蘭威爾裏等，奉渣爾士王之命，於千六百六十三年康熙二年，墾此即以國王之名而名其地，曰渣爾士頓。嗣與臘裏開墾之地，亦經告成，總名曰戈羅裏，地方遼闊，旋分南北兩部。千六百八十年康熙十九年，英國續遣落機至此，又將南戈羅裏，再分兩部落，設官治理，不洽人心。千七百一十九年康熙五十八年並歸為一。迨千七百九十年乾隆五十五年，亦背英而歸彌利堅國，領小部落十有九，以果攬彌阿為首區。計幅員三萬三千方裏，戶五十八萬一千一百八十口。設正副總領各一人，並總會公署一所，薦舉更代如前例。書館八百一十七所，學僮八千三百九十人，歲費銀三萬七千員。俗奉加特力教，波羅特士頓教。產鐵、棉花、苧麻、絲發、穀稻等。河渠不甚長遠，有鐵路通鄰部原本。 |
