| 8 | 武成序云。武王伐殷。往伐歸嘼。孔安國注云。往誅紂克定。偃武修文。歸馬牛於華山桃林之牧地。徐仙音嘼為始售反。按武成當篇云。歸馬於華山之陽。放牛於桃林之野。此與序意相承。又許氏說文解字云。嘼。也。字林嘼音火又反。獸字從嘼從犬。斯則六畜之字本自作嘼。於後始借畜養字為耳。且嘼。獸類屬不同。嘼者人之所養。獸者是山澤所育。故爾雅論牛馬羊豕則在釋畜。論麋鹿虎豹即在釋獸。較然可知。若武王歸鹿華山之陽。放虎桃林之野。可言歸獸。所歸放者既是馬牛。當依嘼字本音讀之。不得以作獸字一邊便謂古文省簡。即呼為獸。且堯典云。鳥獸孳尾。鳥獸毛毨。鳥獸希革。鳥獸氄毛。旅獒云。珍禽奇獸不育于國。皆作獸字不作嘼也。何獨武成一篇以嘼為獸。斯不然矣。 |
