《卷十一 宋文》
2  | 《水经》云：「彭蠡里。之口有石钟山焉。」彭蠡，即鄱阳湖。○引《水经》起，更典实。郦力。元郦道元，注《水经》。以为下临深潭，微风鼓浪，水石相搏，声如洪钟。一说。是说也，人常疑之。人疑。今以钟磬置水中，虽大风浪不能鸣也，而况石乎！一驳，伏下「简」字案至唐李渤少室山人，唐顺宗征为左拾遗，称疾不至。始访其遗踪，得双石于潭上，扣而聆之，南声函胡，宫音。北音清越，商音。枹浮。止响腾，馀韵徐歇。枹，鼓槌也。自以为得之矣。一说。然是说也，余尤疑之。余疑。石之铿然有声者，所在皆是也，而此独以钟名，何哉？一驳，伏下「陋」字案。 |
| 4 | 事不目见耳闻而臆断其有无，可乎？人谓石置水中不能鸣，盖臆断耳。郦元之所见闻殆与余同，而言之不详；简。士大夫终不肯以小舟夜泊绝壁之下，故莫能知；而渔工水师虽知而不能言，此世所以不传也。破「人常疑之」句。而陋者乃以斧斤考击而求之，自以为得其实。破「余尤疑之」句。余是以记之，盖叹郦元之简，而笑李渤之陋也。结出。 |
