66  | 馬周曰：「孩童嗣職，萬一驕愚，兆庶被殃，國家受敗。」則不忍毒害見存之百姓，寧割恩於已亡之一臣；稍有識者，固聞之而寒心也。故夫子之論治，參魯論而居其一，而不及於封建；作春秋，明王道，而邾、郳之受爵不登於策，城衛遷杞皆不序其功。然則當春秋之世，固有不可復行者矣，況後世乎？柳宗元之論出，泥古者猶競起而與爭；勿庸爭也，試使之行焉，而自信以必行否也？太宗曰：「割地以封功臣，古今通義，而公薄之，豈強公以茅土邪？」強人而授之國，為天下嗤而已矣，惡足辯？ |
