《台灣生熟番紀事》
114  | 異類猶能感至仁，有台無物不登春；同游化日光天下，何獨生人欲啖人有海舟將之日本，行至雞籠山後，無風，為東流所牽；抵一山，得暫息。舟中七十五人，皆莫知其所。有四人登岸探路，見異類疾馳，攫一人共啖之。三人逃走，遇一人於莽中；與之語，系泉州人。攜之登舟，具道妖物啖人狀。莽中人曰：『此非妖物，即生番之別種也。蛇首獰猙，能飛行；然所越不過尋丈。前數日，餘舟至，同𤞪遭啖，惟餘獨存』。問其故；舉項間一物曰：『彼畏此，不敢近耳』。眾視之，則雄黃也。皆曰：『吾輩生矣』！出其簏，有雄黃百餘斤；因各把一握。少頃，蛇首數百飛躍而來，將近船，皆伏地不敢仰視；久之，逡巡而退。殆後水轉西流，舟回廈門，泉人得歸故里！ |
