3  | 王隨，字子正，河陽人也。舉進士，為將作監丞、通判同州。代還，直史館，出為京西轉運使。時隨父母在洛中，京西乃其所部也。真宗賜詩寵其行，復以羊酒束帛，使過家為夀，時人榮之。徙淮南，召還，為侍御史知雜事，擢知制誥，隨於詞命，非所長也。出知應天府，徙揚州。未幾，除知開封府。仁宗為皇太子，拜右庶子，周懐政得罪，隨坐假與白金，落知制誥，改給事中、知杭州，復降為秘書少監、知通州。久之，復給事中，遷龍圖閣直學士、知秦州。秦人多畜逃卒，或忤意則執以求恩奬，故坐法，衆隨至下令，能自歸者免，仍●舊籍，由是多所全活。徙河南府，入為御史中丞，遷翰林學士。明道二年，除戶部侍郎、叅知政事。景祐中，進吏部侍郎、知樞密院事，遂拜門下侍郎、同中書門下平章事、昭文館大學士。與陳堯佐同在中書，議事輒不合，無大臣體，以災異援漢故事，請罷，除彰信軍節度使、同平章事、判河陽。卒，年六十七，贈中書令，諡曰「章惠」。隨外若方嚴，而所治常失於寛。性善佛，慕唐裴休之為人，仍學其書，然不逮也。 |
