余記敎授㕔之明年,施君應龍,大修學君,用學法,肄士士,𥘉不便巳,而出《論語》、《孟子》書交問,更質,指《中庸》、《大學》為之歸,益以司馬氏《通鑑》,士乃附恱,有躍於心,相率請曰:先生惠教以逺者,使變而至道厚矣!然惟此學始元豐,餘十紀,摧剝行盡,身且不庇,敎於何立,君患之復召鄭著。余鳯約歳損食,命工先木相,次信,二守東方兩使屬縣長助各有差,使楊夢庚、鄭連、諸葛褒撤像殿之,壊十六飾,加彤朱作論,堂櫺星門,崇大於舊,偃植之敝尺以上,悉易以成材,上瓦下磚,楹間之門牖,無不重整𥙊之豆籩,冠珮章甫,無不新設,噫!亦勞甚矣!始余以師之室廬,非師之責也,今併弟子之室廬,亦師之責矣,古今固異事也,及其成功,一而巳渠,古之是今之非哉?施君於是,則可以敎矣。昔孔子歎材難而舜止五臣,周之亂臣僅九人焉,孟子亦言由堯舜至於孔子見聞之際,彰彰乎莫之企及也,道之凝聚顯發,此最其盛者,然而夲之為中庸,固天所以降命乎我爾,要之為大學固物所以㑹通乎我?爾性合而中物至於和,獨聖賢哉?乃千萬人同有也!何孔孟所稱稀闊而不多歟?由孔孟至於今又加乆矣,其可稱者何寥沉而不●歟?嗚呼,安得不愽類廣倫以明之,畢躬殫力以奉之歟?此師友之教,問學之講,所以窮無窮極無極也,雖然,有一於此,方周衰不復取士凍餓,甚者幾不活矣,孔孟不以其不取而不教也,孔孟之徒,不以其不取而不學也,道在焉故也,後世取士矣,師視其取而後敎之士,視其取而後學之,夫道不以取而後存也,故愈㣲,然則敎其所不取,施君勉諸學其所不取信之士,勉諸嘉定九年正月長溪修學記。

社,土也。稷,糓也。非土不生,非榖不育。國始建,則壝以祀,示民有命也。風雲雷雨,隨地而興,禾黍菽麥,隨種而生,神明之所由出,至嚴至,敬不敢忽也。怪滛誣誕之說,起乞哀於老佛,聽𭛠於鬼魅,巨而龍,罔㣲而鱓蝪,執水旱之柄,擅豐㓙之權,視社稷無為也。嗚呼!豈民悖而不知禮哉?乃長吏導之,非其義也。蓋溫州之社稷,昔者莫能詳矣。某自童年,見其壇陛頽缺,旁無四墉,敝屋三楹,飲慱嬉遨聚焉,𥙊且至徐,薙茀蔓草,燔燎甫畢,巳叢生過其舊矣。地氣一不應浮屠之普覺,行廟之祠山,湫淵之玉函,莆杓、椒丘之三王,海神奔走,拜伏呪誦,呶雜社稷,顧漠然無預也。夫莫尊於地,莫察於地,衆靈羣望,環拱效職者也,何急彼而慢此哉?故曰非其義也。嘉定四年,守楊簡始加甓士上,於是灌莽尤盛,刺壯城卒,專修平之。十年,守鞏嶸伉其大門,改造齋房,築墻百五十堵具,凡佩服器用之須,楊公謂守莫先於社稷,鞏公曰:吾寢處漏不補,它觀游無用也。二公知以義導其民矣。夫山水之高深,像設之詭特,衆靈羣望,託之以為神也,社稷無有,然則民之耳目雖新於一時,而不能乆於異日矣。古人必𣗳之田主,各以其野之所宜木,鄭康成曰:后土,田正之所依也,周人以栗宰我曰:使民戰栗。以為𢙢懼不自安,非親地之道也。永嘉之木,莫宜於䂊樟。豫雷出地,●也,樟章之也,皆羙甚之名也。數十百年,其大百圍其崇干霄,民無敢不肅也。然後知古之治其國者,社稷之臣。今之守其地者,社稷之守。十二月,季子廟記。

余友胡衛道知常州,書來曰:鄒公冢在此,學官弟子薦省必時禮也,家浸逺而貲落𥙊不,亭守無廬,山中松栢皆盡,然而敬不專於家者,我其責歟?敎授趙綝,實始作亭,我命尉朱起章治旁廬,舎予間民衣食以居,而汛除焉。墓四隅,樹之木,俟以長而芘蔽焉,若是,則視其家無逺矣!

甫就業巳畢,雖然,我欲永乆如一日而後,此勤惰不齊,奈何思其氣類一而終始,能不慢者,惟學之士庶幾?故又使司戶朱中守序其意,以請幸子詞而託之也。公名浩,字志完章,子厚獨相,日任諌列,子厚迷國,罪無匹明,最大者,二后廢立之際,尤大者,臣子不忍言也。公既以死爭,而子厚將遂殺公,袓問皆坐貶,旅次不容榻,㑹其即敗僅免爾,小人猶僞撰公䟽,激怒宫闈,故雖元祐黨籍巳赦,而公三竄謫,屈伸榮辱之變,未嘗不以正也,朝廷雖謇切,郷黨常和樂識慮,雖逹權操捨常,据經學術,雖敏辨講肄,常鈍黙修之身及家,未嘗無夲末次第也,諌必行,人臣之榮遇也,然道之難全而非節不著,喜聞過人,主之盛德也,然事之難明而非節不顯,紹聖迄宣和,諌官五御史,一皆豪傑有重名者也,記曰:釋奠必有合也,有國故則否。嗚呼!公可以為故矣。學之士仰綴一瓦,俯緝半甓而楹桷自新也,雪榦霜枝,蒼鱗翠甲,而樵牧自絶也,出以公之道而仕,處以公之道而止,而進退自明也。衞道,托於學之士也深,而士之報宜厚矣。衞道名衞,越州人。
