淨端《羅湖野録》：西余淨端禪師，字表明，歸安邱氏子。六歳事吳山解空院，寶暹為師，既而觀弄獅子頓契心法，乃從仁岳、法師受《楞嚴要㫖》，一日，岳以經中疑難十數，使其徒荅之，端呈偈云：「七處徴心二不遂，懵懂何難不瞥地，直饒徴得見無心，也是泥中洗土塊」。岳驚曰：「子知見髙妙，必𢎞頓宗」。時齊岳禪師住杭之龍華，端徃參禮，不覺奮迅，翻身作狻㹸狀，由是叢林號為「端獅子」。僧寳傳端髙自稱譽，吐語奇怪，病牙久不愈，謂衆曰：「明日化去」。衆以為戲語，請說偈端，索筆大書曰：「端獅子太慵懶，未死牙齒，先壊爛二時，伴衆赴堂粥飯，都趕不辦。如今得死，是便宜長眠，百事皆不管五更，遂化閱世七十二，東吳祠之，以為散聖」。
