7  | 夏口城在縣西黄鵠山。《荊州圗記》：江夏郡所治，其西南角，因磯為髙墉枕流，上則迴眺山川，下則激浪﨑嶇，是曰黃鵠磯。《水經注》：魏黃初二年，孫權所築，依山傍江，開勢明逺，憑墉藉阻，髙觀枕流，對岸則入沔津故城，以夏口為名。劉宋順帝時，栁世隆等守之，沈攸之攻之不克。梁末陳初，周將史寧為土山長梯攻之不能破，黃巢之亂，止陷外郭，葢其城依山負險，周迴不過二三里，乃知古人築城，欲堅不欲廣也。 |
