1  | 㠯山下戶三百為之奉邑名曰：崇高師古曰：謂之崇者示尊崇之又〈郊祀志〉以山下戶凡三百封宻高為之奉邑師古曰：崈，古崇字耳。以崇奉嵩高之山故謂之密高奉邑。念孫案：崇高卽嵩高師古分崇嵩為二字非也詔曰翌日親登崇高志曰以山下戶凡三百封密高則崇高本是山名而因以為邑名非以崇奉中嶽而名之也古無嵩字以崇為之故《說文》有崇無嵩經傳或作嵩或作崧皆是崇之異文〈地理志〉潁川郡密高下云古文以宗高為外方山〈周語〉融降于崇山韋《注》云崇崇高山也是嵩高之嵩不作崇也〈郊祀志〉又云：祠中嶽泰室於邑高是邑名之崇高字亦作嵩也《爾雅》嵩崇高也嵩樂聲近而義同故崇或作嵩《列子·湯問篇》魂然見之若嵩山之阿謂崇山之阿也楊雄河東賦瞰帝唐之嵩高兮謂堯德之崇高也是經傳中汎言崇高者其字亦作嵩也山名嵩高本取崇高之義《爾雅》山大而高崧郭璞曰今中嶽嵩高山葢依此名是也後世小學不明遂以崇為況稱嵩為中嶽漢靈帝時中郎將堂谿典請攺崇高山為嵩高山則已分崇嵩為二字而魏晉以下皆沿其誤。 |
