先是，梁儲、蔣冕乞還乗輿，疏八九上，帝不省，是秋有物若豕，首堕帝前，色碧，又帝所御婦人室中，滿壁纍纍，若懸人首狀，人情益驚，儲冕手疏跪泣行宮門外，厯未至酉，帝遣人取疏入諭之，起叩頭言未奉諭旨，不敢起，帝許不日還京，乃出會宸濠繫江上舟中，民間訛言將為變，帝心疑欲歸，乃下詔班師。丁酉，發南京，日夕祭龍江䮃蹕儀真，次日至𤓰洲避雨民家，遂自𤓰洲濟江，登金山，復南渡幸大學士楊一清，第製詩十章腸之，還至掦州，太監邱得索賄不得，以鐵絙繫知府蔣瑤，窘辱備至數日乃得釋。質實，金山在鎮江府西北七里大江中，風濤環澆，勢欲飛動，一名浮玊山。蔣瑶，字粹卿，歸安人。方武宗駐蹕揚州，江彬欲奪富民居為威武副將軍府，瑶執不可。彬閉瑶空舍挫辱之，脅以帝所賜銅爪，不為懾，㑹帝漁獲一巨魚，戲言直五百金，彬即界瑤責其直瑶，懐其妻簪珥袿服以進，曰：「庫無錢，臣所有惟此」。帝笑而遣之。府故有瓊花觀，詔取瓊花，瑤言自宋徽、欽北狩，此花已絶，今無以獻。又傳㫖㣲異物瑶，其對非掦産，帝曰：「苧白布，亦非楊産耶？」瑤不得已，為獻五百疋。時權倖以掦素饒，要求無所不至，微瑤民且重困。九月，漁于積水池，遂有疾。
