《卷一百五十三》
64  | 玉自序略曰：「因朱子《通鑑綱目》之例，以經為綱，大字揭之於上，復以傳為目，小字疏之於下。敘事則專於《左氏》，而附以公榖。合於經者則取之，立論則先於公榖，而參以厯代諸儒之說，合於理者則取之。其或經有脫誤，無從質證，則寧闕之以俟知者，而不敢強為訓解。傳有不同，無所考據，則寧兩存之，而不敢妄為去取。至於誅討之事，尤不敢輕信傳文，曲為附㑹，必欲獄得其情，事得其實，則以《經》之所作，由於斯也。聖人之經詞簡義，奥與其强，通其所不可通，以取譏於當世，孰若闕其所當闕，以俟知於後人？程子謂《春秋》大義數十，炳如日星，豈無可明之義？朱子謂起頭一句，春王正月，便不可解，固有當闕之疑。某之為是書也，折衷二說而為之義例，殆以便檢閲備遺忘而已。 |
