戊申文德元年春正月，孫儒殺秦彥、畢師鐸。

是月，駕在鳳翔。丙寅，我師克潤州，生擒薛朗而還，王命剖心以祭周寶。彭城浩走之，王命阮結為制置使，又命築嘉興縣城。二月，駕還長安，大赦改元文德。三月朔，日有蝕之。僖宗疾革，命立壽王為太弟。帝崩，太弟即位，是為昭宗。昭加王檢校司空。夏四月，孫儒入淮南，陷揚州，楊行密奔海陵，復歸廬州。秋九月，王命從弟銶率兵討徐約於蘇州，盡驅州入以守城，皆文其面曰：「願戰南都。」有軍事衙推陳車車本二名，上字犯忠獻王諱謂人曰：「南都者，蓋都邑之稱，杭州其終建國乎！」冬十一月，楊行密攻殺宣州刺史趙鍠而有其地。
