戊辰開平二年春正月，敕改臨安縣為安國縣，廣義鄉為衣錦鄉。夏五月，淮南都將張顥殺其帥楊渥，而自立為留後。逾旬日，大將徐溫復殺顥，立楊渥弟隆演為帥。六月，制授王檢校太師、守中書令，增食邑一千戶，實封一百戶。秋八月，敕改杭州唐山縣為吳昌縣，台州唐興縣為天台縣。是月，又敕升杭、越等州為大都督府。王送宣州王茂章入京師茂章更名景仁，避廟諱也。九月，制授鎮東軍節度副使成及為保大軍節度使、同平章事，副使餘如故。未幾，淮人困圍我姑蘇，王命從弟鋸率兵討之。

秋七月，西川王衍稱大蜀皇帝，致書于京師。八月，王遣使入貢。冬十月，制授王依前天下兵馬都元帥、尚父、尚書令、吳越國王，授文穆王檢校太師、兼中書令、充兩浙節度使觀察留後。十一月，升蘇州為中吳軍，制授鎮東軍節度、檢校太保、兼中書令、大彭郡侯王子傳璙一作元璙充中吳軍節度使。
