20  | 二月，林鳳祥等陷鎮江、揚州，令吳如孝等留守，分據浦口、瓜洲諸隘。向榮既復武昌，躡寇而東，抵金陵，軍孝陵衛，是謂江南大營。都統琦善亦以欽差大臣率直隸、陜西、黑龍江馬步諸軍軍揚州城外，是謂江北大營。三月，向榮破通濟門寇壘，襲占七橋甕，奪獲鍾山圍，殲寇無算，遂移大營逼城而軍。四月，漕運總督楊殿邦進攻揚州，毀城外木城土壘，東路寇悉避入城。琦善、勝保先後督攻，五戰皆捷。鳳祥留立昌踞揚城，驅婦女及所劫貨財運回金陵；率三十六軍北竄，分擾滁州，踞臨淮關，陷鳳陽府。其酋朱錫錕、黃益蕓等別率悍黨犯浦口，攻六合，知縣溫紹原率鄉團拒之，夜火其營，寇遁回金陵。五月，大兵圍揚州，殺敵逾萬。勝保自揚州躡其後，力攻鳳陽，寇遁河南。 |
